The sdi is the 600ho motor with fuel injection. So if you have ridden the 600ho then you wont notice much difference except the sdi will run alot better in all temps etc, and much much better mpg and smoother. I've owned many 600ho carbed, and many sdi's including an 08 sdi's and you should definitely pick the sdi over the carbed version.

Understanding the Context

The SDI also has "power valves" instead of the SD standard exhaust valves. The power valve is however still related to exhaust pressure and now a servo controls how much pressure and when the pressure gets to the bellows to pull the valve open. The sdi plug mystery is a real mind F#&*K. I have had two 600's for three years now.

Key Insights

They foul plugs for no aparent reason and those plugs are not cleanable or regapable.. You just chuckem and buy new ones !!! WTF!!! No one has given me an answer to why , no I don't touch the throttle, I warm them up and drive away....
